  1. Had blood drawn for my Insulin test this morning so I can calculate my HOMA-IR. Took a self test for glucose just after so I have both numbers (114 fasted morning). Had to self purchase the Insulin test as my doctor only does A1c. Results are available in 3-4 days.

  2. Hi Dr. Ekberg, I got T2D and take metfomin hydrochchloride 500mg. After watching your videos I stopped taking medicine and tried to flow the diet you’ve been suggesting in regards to IR and replacing Carbs with Fat. Once my blood sugar went down to 4.8 and feeling a strange pain on top of my head in a large circle plus a severe conscription during the few day dieting as I have never had this problem before. So I stopped the diet and went back to take the tablet. I talked to a GP and he was so against the diet as well. In addition I’m taking fenofibrate (lipidle) 145mg and Xarelto20mg. I would love to hear your advice.

  3. How do I lower my fasting blood sugar in the morning, I have been a diabetic since 2000, trying to reverse,have paused use of Humalog,Metformin 2000mg daily,Januvia 50mg daily. Eating 2 strips of bacon and 1 or 2 eggs at 12 noon, no breakfast, no carbs, only beef,pork , chicken ,fish.and sometimes shrimp. dinner at 6pm. Pistachio nuts for snack,no snacks after 9pm. aside from diabetes, I have hypertension, high cholesterol. please help me, I dont trust my doctor, thank you.

  5. Thank you doctor, how I know if I reversed insulin resistance without Homa Ir?, my insurance don’t accept it. I read you in a comment that if my glucose go down to 70’s it indicate insulin sensitivity.

  6. OMG, where was I in May 2019 when you published this video? I hardly new about keto, although even that is not good enough for me as I have been discovering in the past few months. Started to see some shift as a carnivore, but my old carb habits creep in from time to time. It's not hunger, but that pizza looks so delicious! Or I opt for not saying NO when I am offered a piece of cake, … from a colleague,/friend. Your videos help me to remind myself of the consequences that are far worst than the obesity itself. Hopefully in future after this pandemic I can travel to the US and meet you and your team in person.

I started watching your videos 40 days ago, I exercised a lot for the last 4 years, i lost a lot of weight during the first year, back in 2017,but then i had this dumb idea that since i excercised a lot, i could abuse carbs AKA our usual suspects (cookies, white bread, chocolate stuff, beer…), many of the symptoms you point out in the insuline resistance symptoms i could identify as happening to me. So, i gained weight, had trouble focusing, i felt tired, and the quality of my workouts started dropping, and that prompted more weight gains, even though i was trying to push harder in cardio and all that stuff. 40 days ago i started following your advices that you kindly share on your channel, i lost so much belly fat, my appetite has gone so low im doing 2 meals a day and no need for snacks, im starting to feel great!, im able to workout for longer and with more intensity without feeling bashed afterwards, im sharing your videos with my relatives and i tell them im following your advice, and proudly i can show the results with myself as direct evidence, thank you so much Dr!

  8. when does the body decide to create additional fat cells? also, i've heard that fat cells can shrink but rarely are destroyed only in extreme starvation circumstances. what's the truth about fat cells? (txt answer would be nice, a video would be awesome) 🙂

  9. How come did we (I mean the scientific consensus) botch this issue so blatantly? I'm usually 100% pro-science, yet for nutrition advice there is this clear evidence that they've confused the cause for the effect (insulin/glucose but also inflammation/LDL cholesterol). How long will it take for the evidence to pile high enough so to throw the current official guidelines to the dustbin (together with margarine and low cholesterol foods, just to name two other fails of the science of nutrition).

    When I hear the usual refrain "eat more often, less fat" all I can do is trust my scale and my garmin watch which confirm me every day that I am on the right track.

  10. Many thanks to Dr. Ekberg for clearly explaining how the body works when dealing with insulin resistance – he provides no judgment; just proven scientific info.

    At 60+ I really want to enjoy my senior years in good health. I met my DNA father when he was 81 — by then he'd had two triple bypasses, aneurysms, etc. For most of his adult life his hobbies were drinking (rum and Coca-Cola), smoking (three packs a day), and women. He was no longer drinking, smoking, or womanizing, but was eating mainly ice cream, cheese, and sandwiches from the gas station next to his apartment. He did not take kindly to health advice from anyone. Not unexpectedly, he died at 83 from a massive heart attack.

    Since Covid started, with its combo of stress and boredom, I was riding the sugar/carb train pretty often. I was in easy proximity to my fridge and cupboards. After watching these vids I don't buy any junk food or alcohol. I remember my father's poor health, and watch/re-watch Dr. Ekberg's videos for continued inspiration. I'm happy to be fitting into my pre-Covid clothes by eating three healthy meals a day, with no snacking in between. And wine is now a treat, not a lifestyle lol.

    I've also shared these videos with friends and family who are invested in improving their health too. Good luck to everyone whatever your goals are!

  11. It amazes me how many people want drugs to stomp more sugar into a full cell, but so few consider reducing how much sugar you put into the body.
    If your water is on, and your sink is filling up, you don't look for a way to pump the water down the drain faster, you turn the water off, or at least down.
