Low carb diet definitely works. My problem is that I am sensitive to salt and I have high blood pressure. I read that to do a keto diet, one must increase sodium to 4 gm daily- which I cant do. Any suggestions??

Can you have a lactose free milk a 2% instead of skim or almond
I use a sugar-free milk called Maple Hill Organic. Per cup it has 5g fat, 0g carbs, and 8g protein.
I'm a huge fan of Dr. Ekberg, but his last line does not make sense to me. "Put some Stevia on it". There is no need to encourage people to crave sweet food. Fruit tastes naturally sweet and does not need man made chemicals to improve the taste. It is much better for people to get used to the great taste of food without adding chemicals.
Are apples consider low carb?
Why low carb diet? Are the whole grains not good ? What Dr. Mc Dougal preaches is light on our organs and can be eaten consistenly in moderation for the whole life.
I prefer 45%carb,35%protein and 20% fats meal. Fats are so high in calories

I have impossible time relating grams to what every one see when buying food usually by pound and ounces at least in the USA cup = 8oz also bowel is ambiguous as varies so much LOL
Count your calories. It doesn't matter whether you eat fat or lean – 1000 calories is 1000 calories and you will lose weight. Don't eat much sugar if you are pre-diabetic. If you are normally healthy have some ice cream every week. Eat a hot dog at the ball park. Have some frys with your burger. Eat some pizza every 2 weeks or so. Put sugar in your coffee, eat some cookies, and have a Snickers when you crave one. Live life. My grandparents lived to be over 90 eating butter, milk with cream on the top; a fresh baked apple pie with sugar and butter on the top. Made ice cream with peachs or banannas.
Stay active. Do some resistance work to keep your muscle mass; do some running or walking. Eat fruits and vegetables. Put butter on your potatoe. Eat broccoli with butter. Lean meat; fish and chicken. Have a steak every week if you want. If your genetics limit your life to 50 years or 100 years, live your life without obsessing about longevity. Oh yeah, and don't forget sardines.
