  1. This video is a preparation for when routine family dinners become a thing after the pandemic calms down a bit and everyone gets their vaccines. 😀 Maybe the last half of 2021.

  2. My family think I'm a bit nutty for slipping in a slim digital scale under the dinner plate so I can measure the calories of everything I am eating at a family dinner. I think of it in the opposite way though. How weird of them to be stuffing their face with tons of calories and not know exactly what they are consuming? Use the tools you have. My digital scale was like $8.00. (Hooray for cheap mass produced things.) Most people are distracted at the table with a $500 smart phone, but somehow we don't think that's weird.

  3. The ultimate Keto CHALLENGE. Please can someone design a keto wedding reception. Simple question. Simple answer? A sumptuous feast that has everyone’s’ taste buds working overtime, and also stirs merriment and celebratory spirits that the happy couple will remember their whole lives.

I don’t think Keto converts can hope to save the world unless this challenge is solved.

  4. before I join my family on a B-day or holiday meals, I eat two keto meals before showing up on the day, several days before the party I do OMAD twice combined with extra exercise, at the party I pile on vegies, seafood, beef, very little carb just to be social and I compliment the chef on how delicious all the foods are, my excuses for skipping desserts is my lactose-intolerance and I forget to bring my enzyme pill, then I ask the hostess for a take-home plate and this way I avoid any lengthy explanantion and everyone is happy that I enjoy everything at the party. (BTW-I throw away the dessert plate ASAP when I reach home).

  5. Truth to be told, if a person is really on a keto diet, he has no desire for special extra food, nor does he have a desire for various chips and stuff. He can easilly watch others eat and be niher hungry nor craving the same food.

For example, nowdays I can't even have a bite of food that has sugar, it's so sweet that I have to spit it out, it is honestly so,and I never ever have cravings.
I have been on a keto diet for 14 months, and more than 10months I have been mostly OMAD .

Do honest keto and your life will be a hundred times easier and better.

When it comes to "eating with frineds" there is always a choice to put keto food in your plate and leave the other one off the plate.

Dr Ekberg, thank You for every video you post and everything you do. ❤

  6. I feel the biggest advantage is to already be fat adapted, so you don't even really get tempted to eat the unhealthy stuff. For me personally it works best not to eat before and then just stick mostly to the keto-friendly options. Also, I can handly tiny amounts of the bad stuff pretty well. At least that gives you less stress than refusing almsot everything from your host.

  7. A lot of times if I cheat,I will hop on my stationary bike for 30 minutes and my sugar goes down.I am on no meds. Sugar may go to 200 then it goes down below 140 or less. What are your thoughts on this method?
My A1C was 6.4 at last appt.

  8. I make a coleslaw…. 2 Tbs vinegar, 4 packets stevia or whatever sweetener you use, 2/3 cup mayo… blend together add to 1 package of slaw mix… easy, low carb, and tasty. For some added zip mix in a little chili powder and some garlic powder.

  9. Thanks for all your videos. All is very well explained. What about bitter substances? What do they? I have heard just good things, but does it makes sense to take them as drops or something like that?

  10. What is ketoacidosis? How is it related to the keto diet?
    My perspective:
53 y/o male type II diabetic
Was 600lbs. 20 years ago now 300lbs. Still losing weight
A dietitian said i need to be careful about this.

  11. To stay close to my keto diet, I brought a chia pudding for my dessert, I threw some Lily chocolate chips and macadamia nuts in, and some whipped cream (no sugar) on top. I think my dessert was the best. For New Years I will follow your advice. Thank you, and happy new year 🎆🎊

  12. Dr. Ekberg, thank you for the wonderful videos. I have a rather long question to ask you, because I'm having a problem and I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction. I was diagnosed with diabetes about 10 years ago, which I could never get under control. My doctor kept adding medications and telling me to loose weight. I'm currently on Metformin 2000 mg/day, Glimpiride 6 mg/day, Pioglitazone 30mg/day, and Canagliflozin 300mg/day. About 6 months ago I got an A1C score of 8.6, which is when I started taking things seriously and watching your videos. I radically cut my carb intake – not quite keto but close. In 3 months my A1C was down to 5.3. Then I also started intermittent fasting. I got the Frestyle Libre monitor, which is wonderful. My problem is that I am always going hypoglycemic – often down to 50 or 40 and sometimes lower. I rarely get above 100. Should I be cutting back on the meds? Or is there another issue. I've lost a significant amount of weight but am still about 30 lbs overweight, and I'm 53 years old. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  13. I have a question.m Dr Sten Ekberg, I run 50 miles a week but how can I have a low carb diet?, i train hard as I need complex carbs , love to eat fruit and dairy and am generally healthily, but I dont think I want keto as I love fruit

  14. I have been thinking about all the things I have learned about food and health over the years
I don't believe it is ever good to starve your body …..
I have watched the baskets of food at the checkout

I have noticed the same foods in the baskets of both fat and thin people

The only baskets that have different foods are those people who are healthy

I believe plants show this in strong evedance ….. If they are over or under watered they die

That being said even watering an appropriate amount they need plant food to give them that beautiful health

Looking at animals …… They get fat too …. Some are thin some are fat … Eating the exact same foods.

But when the foods are of high quality filled with nutrition the foods flow freely through the body system feeding and filling every cell with life

Foods need to be free flowing foods that brings life to the body

Maybe I'm thinking down the wrong road …….

    What's your thoughts ?

By the way I did make it to the gym at 5:30 am before work after meditation cleaning the house and preparing healthy foods for my body

I am a Medicare insurance agent now and have noticed through thousands of conversations with the elderly that quality and length of life seems to be directly linked to the use of vitamins or an abundance of holistic foods

    What's your thoughts?

I believe we learn from observation …. I also believe all people have equal abilities and are filled with experiences stories and knowlage unless they were born with brain damage

Through our lives we gather knowlage ….. I do not believe it can be contained or held between the walls of a building or trapped on a certificate of paper

Knowlage as with health is freeflowing

Please explain more on the idea of keto as it pertains sound health and vitality

Weight gain and loss in industry has no value with good health and vitality weight is stable

One more question …… What's up with potatoes? If I boil them or put them in soup …. I get issues ….. If I bake them I do just fine …. Why?
