I took it upon myself to start monitoring my morning blood sugar levels about a year ago and have been running low 100s with a max of 122 just last week and with several of the symptoms you describe. I’m in the middle of what I hope to be my first 5 day fast and just this morning, at 33hrs, got my first ever sub-100 reading (97) and just got a mid-afternoon reading of 71 at 39hrs. 🙂🙂🙂.   4. There was a time (aprox 4yrs ago) where I fasted for 40 days because I wanted God's favor, I wouldn't eat until 6pm and what I ate was veggies and tofu from my local Chinese restaurant. I dropped from 200 to almost 160 I'm 5'7 and all my levels of cholesterol and what not ģot to a healthy level, but now I understand the science behind it. I'm back to 220 but that's bc I'm a pancake and baking goods enthusiasts. But now it's time for me to fast again.

I lost 25lbs following your informational advice!, over a period of about 45 days!, I'm 60years old, I only eat between 5-6pm, no glucose/sugar/fructose, never felt better!!, biggest benefit has been my improved attention span, mental acuity!, cut my food bill in half, what an epiphany it was!..

  6. Please someone answer me. I've been training calisthenics for a while 5-6 years. I look good. I started 18-6 fasting. I will go OMAD. When I go for 48 hours or more without food, can I train? lift weights and such? Is it good for muscle growth? I don't need to lose weight, just for my health benefits and self-repair, but I will not break my training routine 🙂 cheers

  7. So true! I have fasted up to 6 mos before. I literally felt like I was floating. I was solely on a liquid diet. I know this works because I have friends who are practicing breatharians. I don’t recommend long periods of time for everyone but it definitely helped me.

  8. Hello Doc, thanks for this valuable information regarding multi-day fasting. Personally, I fast every day for 22 hours. I'm an experienced faster of 6 years. So I definitely know what the benefits are. My longest water fast was 23 days. I use carbonated water and Himalayan pink salt during the fast. I won't undertake such a long fast again, but I'm glad that I reached my goal. I've done many 3 to 7-day fasts, and because I'm experienced, I came to the conclusion that 3 to 5 days is more than sufficient for health. I hope this helps.   9. Ok I have a question for anyone please. Let’s say you do the 3 day fasting, then what can you drink ? Can you eat salad ? Can you have Cofee ? Are you suppose to or allowed to do or not to do exercise. While fasting, are you suppose to sit still and not move much. To me there so many grayish areas that I a so unclear. Can anyone answer please? Thx

  10. I am an avid follower of your health talks. I am 70ys old n 41 kgs wt. I did intermittent fasting some months ago and lost wt drastically n was looking pathetic. Then I stopped intermittent fasting and looked better.
    Now I am feeling very very hungry because last week I had to do strenuous work plus anxiety. Now I am feeling hungry even after eating a lot if my staple food rice

  11. I like the way he explains all the mechanism about fasting. Let's point these things out th: 1. If somebody has an insulin resistance, diabetis 1 or 2, they shouldn't do it. 2. The fasting itself doesn't cause anorexia or bulimia. The diet culture that promotes fasting to lose weight does. 3. As he mentioned, fasting should be used as a way to regulate the metabolism and have more energy, not to look younger and skinnier.

  14. Listening to Dr. Ekberg has helped me a lot. I was diagnosed with fatty liver 2 months ago. It's very hard to exercise often due to my shift work but his direction on the benefits of fasting has provided me an alternative to control what I eat and chose fasting as an alternative. I was 117kg, my energy was down, had issues sleeping and concentrating and was eating my life out coupled with cigarettes and alcohol. Fasting has helped me stop all cravings, no more alcohol or cigarettes and I've lost about12kilos in 2months. I feel much better and healthier fasting and would make it a life habit

  15. I think I have an eating disorder. Once I finish a meal, I will just feel hungry the next two hours. In order to solve this, what should I react?
    Plus, I’m still not clear about the more effective way of fasting, whether to eat many small meals per day or eat less frequent meals per day?

I have tried IF before and it was really effective i lost more than 10 kilograms in just 28 days but one thing i notice is that i was experiencing hair fall that moment and i think that was the bad effect of IF to me… i wanted to continue it but how can i avoid hair falling hope you could help me…

  17. I'm currently on hour 40 of an unplanned Fast and its not at all what I expected. Unplanned in the sense that I wasnt feeling good Wednesday, didn't eat anything yesterday (Thursday) and today its 208p and Ive only had water. Aside from a very minor headache, I feel more awake and better focuses – not so much in a "cloud" if that makes any sense and not really even hungry. Now that its been this long, I am going to see if I can make it 72 hours

  18. I was 117 lbs when I started my fasting. Today is my 4th day. Feeling great. Lost 4 lbs. I am testing on Ketones strips to where I am. It shows between 4-5. Very exciting!   19. Great channel!! I have a question. If I have Hashimoto and take thyroid hormons every day, should I stop taking them for the 3 or 5 days fast if I only plan to drink water? I cant find this information anywhere.
